BookingDesigner for Claude and ChatGPT
Ask about your property's numbers in plain language. The connector links Claude or ChatGPT to your BookingDesigner data: occupancy, ADR, production, channels, requests and, if your administrator allows it, individual bookings. Always read-only.
https://api.bookingdesigner.com/mcp
Sign in with your BookingDesigner account (OAuth). No keys or passwords to copy.
What it does
- Reads, never writes. Every tool is read-only: the assistant cannot change bookings, rates, availability or anything else.
- The same numbers as the BMS. Answers come from the same functions that compute the Analytics panels and the PMS, not from estimates.
- Never more than you already see. The assistant only sees the properties where you have the Analytics permission, and only the data areas your administrator granted you.
- Revocable at once. You can disconnect it at any time, from Claude or ChatGPT and from the BMS.
Before you start
- A BookingDesigner account with the Analytics permission on at least one property.
- The MCP Analytics service enabled for your organization. BookingDesigner support turns it on: write to support@ionet.it.
- Access granted by your organization's administrator in the BMS, under Organization settings › Integrations › MCP Analytics (Impostazioni organizzazione › Integrazioni › MCP Analytics; the BMS interface is in Italian). That is where they choose which data areas you can query.
- A Claude or ChatGPT plan that allows custom connectors.
Connect Claude
Pro and Max plans
- Open Customize › Connectors and choose + › Add custom connector.
- Paste
https://api.bookingdesigner.com/mcpand confirm with Add. Leave the advanced OAuth settings empty. - Click Connect: the BookingDesigner sign-in page opens (see Consent).
Team and Enterprise plans
- The owner of the Claude organization opens Organization settings › Connectors, chooses Add › Custom › Web and pastes the URL.
- Each person then opens Customize › Connectors, finds BookingDesigner and clicks Connect, with their own BookingDesigner account.
In a conversation, turn the connector on from the + button at the bottom left, under Connectors.
Connect ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT settings, turn on developer mode if your plan requires it for custom apps.
- In the apps (or connectors) section, create a new app with a name of your choice, for example BookingDesigner.
- As the MCP server URL paste
https://api.bookingdesigner.com/mcp, and choose OAuth as authentication. - Confirm: the BookingDesigner sign-in page opens (see Consent).
Consent
Connecting always goes through a BookingDesigner page:
- sign in with your BMS credentials and, if asked, the verification code;
- if you belong to more than one organization, choose the one to connect;
- the page lists the visible properties and the data areas the assistant will be able to read, and warns you if guests' personal data is among them;
- click Allow (Consenti) to return to Claude or ChatGPT, or Cancel (Annulla).
If the page says no organization is available, you have not been granted access yet: ask your organization's administrator. The consent page is currently in Italian.
What you can ask
- “How did August go compared with last August? Occupancy, ADR and RevPAR.”
- “What did we produce by channel in the second quarter, and which channel grew the most?”
- “How many requests came from the website this month, and how many became bookings?”
- “How far ahead do September guests book, Booking.com versus direct?”
- “Families or couples: who stays longer, and who books earlier?”
- “Which countries do July's guests come from?”
- “Who is arriving today, and in which room?” personal data
- “Which in-house guests have a birthday this week?” personal data
Ask about several properties at once and the assistant can answer for each or for the total.
Available tools
The connector exposes 12 tools, grouped into the areas the administrator grants per person. The assistant only sees the tools of the areas granted.

The Property list and data freshness area is always granted. The Booking notes (only together with Bookings by name) area has no tools of its own: it adds notes to the booking lists.
Guests' personal data
The Bookings by name and Notes areas are off until the administrator turns them on for a person. When they are on:
- the assistant reads individual bookings: booking name, room, room type, board, dates, number of guests, channel and stay total; for birthdays, the guest's name and the age they turn, only from age 14 up: for younger guests only the number of birthdays per day is returned, with no name or room;
- notes arrive without links, email addresses, phone numbers and guest page access codes;
- guests' email, phone, identity documents and payment data are never available, in any area.
Every other area returns aggregates only.
Limits
- Freshness. Aggregate tools use Analytics data, which is synchronized periodically; every answer states how up to date it is. Arrivals, departures, in-house guests and bookings come from the PMS in real time.
- Periods. Up to 366 days per call for aggregates; up to 31 days and 300 rows for booking lists. For longer periods the assistant makes several calls.
- Rate. Each connection has a maximum number of calls per minute (60 by default). If the assistant exceeds it, it gets a notice and can retry shortly after.
Disconnect and revoke
- From Claude or ChatGPT: remove the connector or app in settings. Removing it from ChatGPT does not disconnect it on the BMS side right away: the connection stays active until it expires, or until you disconnect it from the BMS.
- If you connect the same app again, the consent page offers to replace the previous connection. Leave it ticked if you are reconnecting; untick it if you are connecting another computer or another account and want to keep both.
- From the BMS: in Integrations › MCP Analytics, under Your connections (I tuoi collegamenti), click Disconnect (Scollega). It takes effect immediately.
- The organization's administrator sees and can revoke every connection, and can withdraw a person's access.
- If an account is deactivated in the BMS, its connections stop working until it is reactivated.
Troubleshooting
- I don't see the new tools. On ChatGPT click Refresh in the app settings. On Claude, start a new conversation.
- A property is missing. You need the Analytics permission on that property in the BMS.
- An area is missing (for example today's arrivals). The administrator has to grant it in the BMS. The change applies from the next call.
- A number doesn't match the BMS. Check the freshness date in the answer, and whether it refers to stay date or booking date: they are two different readings of the same period.
Other MCP clients
For a client without OAuth support, the administrator can create a personal key in the BMS, on the same page. Send it in the X-API-Key header to https://api.bookingdesigner.com/mcp. It has the same permissions as the person and is revoked the same way.
